Mod Contact Post!

Hi,

This is a post where you can contact a Mod about anything other than rule-violations, if you'd rather do so somewhere other than e-mail. Of course, you can also contact us by e-mail for anything at GroupXMods@gmail.com, or if you have a concern that needs to be addressed by a certain mod (or not seen by a certain mod), you can use the Private Messaging system.

So here you can post suggestions for open thread topics, suggestions to improve the journal theme, questions on what kinds of posts fit the theme of the community, requests to affiliate... basically anything you'd need a mod for that wouldn't be better handled over e-mail.

Just one note, though, requests for new tags should go to the Tag request post.

I was thinking once a week at first. But maybe Monday and Thursday, if you think we need more?

Also, do we want to trade off who posts the OTs?

They seem to fizzle a bit after a few days, so it might be better to do biweekly?

Maybe? As long as it isn't free for all, as I could see that ending up with more than one thread getting put up by mistake.

I'll put one up tomorrow, then. Mondays and Thursdays kind of balances the week out.

Hmm, yeah, we'd need some sort of schedule of who had time to do the OTs... I'll send an e-mail to the mod account so everyone gets it and see whose interested.

So about the joining requirements...

I've been talking to a couple of people who are sort of put off and intimidated by the joining requirements, and we've had absolutely no drama in the community. Would it be worth it to change the community guidelines to "you can join at will?" I'd rather open the community potentially to drama and incorporate more new people than let it die, especially since so many of the posts are locked.

I'd be OK with it as long as mods are willing to nudge people if they post inaccessible content. I don't know if I'm the only blind person in the group but so far I've enjoyed the experience of not having to nag people to alt-tag or describe images that are posted.

I'm fine with this? We can always jump on the banhammer/change it back if we start getting trolls.

I'd be okay with it as long as people kept up with the accessibility requirements. I've been trying to pay attention and make sure those are being followed and people have been good about it so far, but since they all had to write about it to join we know for sure they did read it.

So, as teafeather said, as long as the rest of the mods are willing keep an eye on that when they're around, I think we'd be okay.

Hey y'all,

I don't know if anyone's still keeping up with this community, but I think it might be worth trying to revive. I'd be willing to post open threads for a while, to make an effort-- I do something similar for the Asexual Agenda and it doesn't take very much time at all.

Would that be acceptable?
