OMG POKEMON. One of the geekiest things I do is take my Nintendo DS everywhere and play Pokemon on it.

Does fanfiction count? Though actually the nerdiest moment of my life was getting really super massively excited last year when I realized that my school subscribes to JSTOR. It was a beautiful moment of discover.

Blackwells? I have been to a PLAY in Blackwells. In the huge basement room - you know it? It was Faustus. It was fun.

I also once got happily lost in the book section of the London Forbidden Planet.

Heh, I'm just listening to MC Frontalot right now because a swim team friend on facebook added Nerdcore Hiphip to his interests and reminded me about it.

Geeky things I have done... Does the level of my glee when I got to see THE ROSETTA STONE OMG at the British Museum count? (Oh my god, the British Museum was brilliant. I want to spend so much more time there.)

In fairly unrelated news, earlier today I embroidered my grandma's initials on a handkerchief for her birthday. And I'm almost halfway done knitting this baby blanket. I AM THE MOST DOMESTIC.

I totally stroked the model they had in the other room for people to touch.

.... they had a model? Either it wasn't there when I was there or I need to glare at my niece and nephew for being distracting.

It was in one of the reading room things, I think? Not in the same room as the real one. I was there June last year. Full scale plastic thing.

...that was really disjointed. >_

I'm a linguistics/phonetics geek. I geek out over conversations about glottal stops and velar fricatives! One terribly geeky thing I do is listen to songs in other languages and try to phonetically transcribe them into IPA.

Oh gods yes *blushes*.
I used to write out songtexts phonetically for my brother too, because he wanted to know what they were saying (it was English, he was maybe 7 or something), even if he couldn't understand it.

I'm not sure, quite possibly desinging a new language with a group of friends when I was about 17. Or maybe suggesting visiting the real life (equivalent) spots that George Stobbart visited in Broken Sword 1 in France, when we had our RP-group meet-up in France last year.
Or maybe holding whole conversations in lines from the Monkey Island games with my brother... (or from Psychonauts).

I don't really own geeky things unless my comouter counts, or that there's piles of books everywhere because we have no more shelf room, or maybe my Spongebob pullover.

I not-so-secretly want to work in a museum, one day. Other than that, massive amounts of computer games (why hello thar Deus Ex), crazy intense Doctor Who love, and I absolutely love to conworld. I'm actually helping friends with two different conworlds right now - one's a sort of urban fantasy type thingy, and the other's more sci-fi. Both are brilliant!

OH MY GOD I'M GOING TO A DOCTOR WHO CONVENTION IN NOVEMBER FIVEY WILL BE THERE also I am knitting a Four scarf did I mention I like Doctor Who?

Also, knitting and language-related stuff, though I am terrible at learning other languages. But oh, god, use "decimate" to actually mean "kill one-tenth of" and I will love you forever (Example which came to mind because I was just talking about Who. Other Who geeks will know what I am referring to, but, basically: a villain goes "Shall we decimate them? [...] Remove one-tenth of the population! [of Earth] and my reaction is "OMG DECIMATE AS IN PROPER DECIMATION I LOVE YOU FOREVER this is totally not the appropriate response here is it?")

(Just wanted to note - sorry for vanishing (more), I had some computer problems meaning I had to use an old computer, and if something isn't sitting obviously in my bookmarks page/toolbar it tends to go completely out of my head.)
